| Question: | Why should I post my story here? |
| Answer: | Great question. I have a few thoughts: #1 -The Bible tells us to: As you move through this site, pay attention to the very bottom of your screen. I've designed the site to visually reflect the idea that sharing our stories is based on scripture, and have coded the site to include those scriptures that talk about us sharing our stories of God - like this verse from Psalms: "Let this be recorded for a generation to come, so that a people yet to be created may praise the Lord:" Psalm 102:18 #2 - Jesus did: Even by those who don't call him God like I do, Jesus is considered the greatest teacher of all time. Much of his teaching was done using stories or "parables" (if you aren't familiar with them just use this Google search for plenty of reading about the parables). This is definitely one area where we can really put legs on those WWJD (What Would Jesus Do) bracelets and follow his example by telling our story. #3 - Your story will get found and read by the people who need to hear it most: God has blessed StoriesAboutGod.org with great search placement. For example - this site either is or has been:
All these examples have been bringing traffic to the site as a result of these words being used in stories (well, except for the platypus thing...). Stories about different topics will create new high search rankings for new terms. To be blunt - there are hurting people using search engines to find comfort. There are confused people using search engines to find direction. Those people need to hear stories about God. Your stories. Stories we are instructed to share in the Bible, and given examples of how to share by Jesus himself. StoriesAboutGod.org has a unique and powerful opportunity to "be found" by those people using the Internet and be that connection point, that storytelling point. The site just needs to be stocked - filled to the gills with hundreds...thousands...of different stories about God. Can you imagine? I can. |
