He smiled at me and told me he wanted me to know that he loved me.
It was Wednesday (Feb. 12th, 2 days after my Birthday) during Revival Week at my school, and my class was just coming back from 4th hour to go to Chapel. We had a good preaching going on, talking about end times, Rapture, Seven Seal Judgments, and all of those related things.
Then our Pastor got up from his seat and asked the crowd, “If you want to get your heart right with Christ and really become saved inside, then don’t be embarrassed - just walk up to the stage and we’ll say a prayer.” There was dead silence in the large room and teenagers/kids were looking around. I was busy arguing with myself whether I should go up or not, but it was too good a chance to pass up, so I sort of forced myself into being the first one to go up. After I went up, gradually the whole entire room stepped up to the stage. I felt pretty good when I did it because I didn’t realize all these kids were embarrassed to go up first, then the teachers and random people from the seats started laying hands on kids and praying in tongues I couldn’t understand.
In about the middle of the prayer service, I felt someones hands lay on my shoulders. I assumed it was one of my teachers, Mrs. Philipps, since we’re good friends and I saw her standing near me when I was up there. But then I saw Mrs. Philipps kneel down with some other kids right next to me, I was wondering “Then who’s laying their hands on me?”. I tried to look at the hands on my shoulders, but the collar of my coat was blocking my view of them. After the Prayer service was over, an old man turned me around (I’m sure he was the one laying hands on me). He asked me,“What’s your name son?” I replied with “Joshua”. He then asks,“Well Joshua, have you accepted the Lord with all your heart?”. I said “Yes Sir, I have”. He smiled at me and told me he wanted me to know that he loved me. I was feeling sort of awkward with a complete stranger telling me he loved me. Then as a common reaction I said “Alright, thats…good.”
I shook his hand then he turned around and started to leave, but right before he left he said something that completely blew my mind and at that moment I knew exactly who he was. He looked at me and said “And Happy Birthday Josh”. Then turned around and left, I was completely speechless, no one but my parents and a few of their friends knew, and I only mentioned it to one kid in my school. The man did happen to mention his name was Jim somewhere in the whole encounter, but just to know the fact that God had wished me a Happy Birthday, and telling me in Words that he loved me, put me straight into amazement and tears.
So to this day I have no reason ever to doubt God in any way at all, because I have my truth and all the proof I could ever need,God exists.
No doubt about it.
