An Angel Wouldn’t Let Me Sleep!

by Jeanmarie

“He kept shaking my leg to wake me up and I was getting so mad!”

I had worked 11hrs one day. The night before couldn’t sleep. I was DEAD tired. Went to bed, husband was reading in bed with a small light. Just as I was about to fall asleep something jerked my foot. I ignored it. It happened again and again. I finally sat up and said out loud, “Stop it!” My husband said, “Stop what?” I told him I wasn’t talking to him-lol.

Then I laid down and it happened again! So, I finally sat up in bed and in my mind said, “OK, what?” I knew someone was trying to get my attention. Then in my minds eye I saw my neighbor next door named John. His wife had died, kids grown and he was very depressed and had been drinking heavily. He has lost his job, quit going outside he was in bad shape. I saw him, in a certain room of his house drunk.  Wine bottles all around him and demons. Demons around him talking to him. Telling him he was no good for anyone. His life wasn’t worth living. He may as well kill himself.

Then I prayed and asked, “OK what should I do?” Then I heard him (someone) say in my head, “pray for him”. So I prayed for God to sent His angels to chase away the demons and for God to help him know he loved John and to heal him of his alcohol addiction. I prayed for his protection. I then went to sleep.

The next morning I saw his father helping him into the car. John was skinny and weak. I found out later his father took him to rehab. He’s remarried now and is OK.

Thanks, Jeanmarie, for sharing your story here on the site.  It’s a good reminder that for many of us the mission field is literally right next door.

That’s one of the most amazing stories i’ve ever heard. It’s true Michael, sometimes the mission is literally right next door, but we are selfish, and forget to look around and help people. It’s good that in the end he was taken to make a drug addiction treatment means your pray helped him more than he will ever know!

I am glad that you listen to God’s voice. Thank you for sharing that story. I should be a reminder to everyone to let God use us at any and all times. We sleep, but we serve a God that never sleeps. Amen!
