Brothers
...he said ‘no’ and that he wanted to stay with Griffyn.
I had to go to a church meeting tonight so asked Chucky, my 17 year-old stepson if he could stay with Griffyn, my 16 month-old son. As usual he was happy to help and came home early from playing basketball.
I fed and bathed Griffyn and got him ready for bed for Chucky to take over when I left at 7:30pm. I slipped out a bit early from the meeting so I could get home before 9pm, just in case Griffyn had acted up or Chucky was having a hard time getting him to bed.
The house was quiet and peaceful and Chucky’s room was empty. I quietly stepped into Griffyn’s room only to find the two brothers sound asleep, together on Griffyn’s bed. I woke Chucky and asked if he had homework to do, but he said ‘no’ and that he wanted to stay with Griffyn.
Slipping out into the lounge a feeling came over me – that’s like God, He’ll drop whatever He’s doing to hold us and comfort us; He’s all about peace and safety.
