Cross on the Mountain Top

I rushed to the side of the balcony to get a better look

On March 15th, 2010, a very good friend of mine passed away. Her name was Taylor; she was in a skiing accident on a Colorado Mountain and passed away because of brain damage. She was only thirteen years old. She donated her organs after she passed and saved 5 lives. I miss her more than anything, but I have comfort knowing that she’s with God in Heaven.

In November of 2010, I found out that I would be traveling to Colorado for a volleyball tournament with my team… On March 15th, 2011. I didn’t want to go, because I knew that I would be an absolute wreck if I went. The one year anniversary without my friend, in the place that caused her to lose her life. I thought it would be too much for me, but I went anyway.

When we finally arrived in Colorado, I met up with my team, and we were all exhausted from the flight, so we decided to go relax in the hot tub. The hotel’s hot tub was on a balcony on one of the higher floors of the hotel, so you could see the mountains from there. My teammates were all having fun in the hot tub, but I didn’t bring a suit, so I just sat on the edge of the hot tub looking over the edge of the balcony. It was night time, and there was a slight breeze: it was the perfect temperature. I was overwhelmed by all of this- seeing the mountains, being in Colorado, and the fact that it was the anniversary of my friend’s death.

As I started to get upset, I looked onto the top of one of the mountains and saw dim lights. I focused in a little harder, and the image became very clear. There was a cross on the mountain top that I was looking at. It was white, lit-up, and beautiful. I was in awe, and I rushed to the side of the balcony to get a better look.

After staring at the beautiful cross for a few minutes with my mouth wide open, I looked down, trying to take it in. And what did I see? A lit up billboard, across the street from the hotel, it read TAYLOR. It was in that moment that I was SURE that Taylor was in Heaven with God, and that she was safe.

God, you are amazing. Thank you for that amazing God moment. I can’t thank You for all that You have done for me. I love you Lord. Please tell TayTay that I love her. <3

Hey girl, I just wanted you to know, this story is very touching. Don’t ever stop believing in Him. He does great things! My town just had a wreck happen on March 5, 2011, so we some-what feel your pain, but God works amazing wonders, and showed Himself to us! Keep believing, and stay strong! :)
