Hands of Faith

by

It was then… that I cried out to God that I was frightened

When I was little, I used to be frightened by many things. Whether it was a nightmare or my imagination or something I had seen on TV, I would huddle under my covers and try not to be scared in the dark. One night, it was especially bad. No matter what I tried, I could not get an image I had seen on TV that day out of my head and I was scared out of my wits. Even though it was only a cartoon skull in the clouds, it still frightened me to the point of keeping me from falling asleep. And it was then, in the lonely darkness of my room, that I cried out to God that I was frightened and asked for help.

Immediately, an image of God’s hand glowed inside my mind and the skull in the clouds quickly dissipated before the radiating light. The fear disappeared from within me and I knew that God was with me, and that God would always be with me no matter what. God loved me.

I slept in peace that night, and since then that glorious image of God’s hand has chased away my nighttime fears.

Thank you Lord, for everything. :)
