My story is about how God answered a prayer and a small glimpse of the providence that I have been able to recognize in my life. 

I was a senior in college and was considering two career options. I was interning at a large corporation and had been offered a full time position after graduation.  I liked the job ok but wasn’t sure I could cut it in the corporate world.  At this time, I was married with 1 small child and another on the way. 

The other career option offered more free time down the road and about the same salary range. But, I had no certain job offer at the time.  I had been praying about which career option to take as my degree afforded me the option of several career paths.  Anyway,  I would often pray in my car on my commute to and from school. 

I was at a red light about to turn onto the on ramp to the Highway. Suddenly, I felt the need to pray about my job right then. I prayed for a sign.  While still stopped at the red light, I looked up after praying and saw the license plate on the car in front of me. It read…”apprazr”…which happens to be the other option that I had been considering but had no certain job offers at the time.

Well, as it turned out I applied for a job in the real estate appraiser field. I ended up being offered the position and took the position.  What really makes this story stand out in my mind is that I actually ended up being placed in the office directly beside the person who drove the car with the “apprazr” license plate.  This person also became my mentor.  To top it all off, the company that I worked for had 10 people in the office after I had been hired.  9 of the 10 people who worked there went to the same college I had just graduated from.  This obviously changed my life. 

Looking back on the situation, I have been blessed by the career choice I made.  I now have 4 kids, am the principal of our homeschool, and enjoy a career that allows me to set my own schedule and spend quality time with my kids!
