My ideas about who God is have changed over the years, but one thing has not changed…that He is always there---a Presence upholding me and together with me throughout my life.  Always with me, forever in me, and oftentimes (when I remember to rely upon Him), through me as I go about my daily life and work.

I have been recently reading a book in which the author calls God “The Beloved” and “The Great Mystery”.  I think that these are beautiful “pet names” to call my Loving Father, who is indeed my beloved, and filled with so much mystery that my mind cannot even begin to grasp it.  When I read this book, I was reminded yet again of how my relationship with God is really all about intimacy, not primarily about theology, apologetics, worship, fellowship, ministry, and study, as I’d thought for so many years.
