After I finished with the witness report to the police, one of the officers casually made a remark that the young gentleman driving the van had been intoxicated. The story sounds like it would end here, but it doesn’t.
When I returned home, I looked up the website of a church I had always thought about attending (due to proximity). I saw there were two services; the latter of the two for those who liked to sleep in! However, I unfortunately ended up sleeping in anyways. Feeling guilty that morning I looked up the website again. On the main page was a section I missed reading the night before - ‘first evening service ever due to popular demand’ that same day!
The story doesn’t end there. I relayed this to my significant other, who works in the Operating Room at the hospital. She typically didn’t work Sundays, but had to due to a scheduling irregularity. As I told her the story, she asked me whether the driver had been a young man and whether the vehicle had been a van. Turns out they had operated on young driver of the vehicle that morning, hours after the accident.
We ended up attending that evening service and had one of the most enjoyable church experiences of my life (rock band & awesome sermon).
A series of pure coincidences….I think NOT. Needless to say, I was sent a clear message on what path NOT to take in my business dealings. I really felt I should share my extraordinary 24 hours with all of you and how it will affect my life from this point onwards.
