You Belong to Me

by Robert

Do not fear child, you belong to the Son of God.

When God draws you nearer to Him, you realize more about yourself that you really don’t want to be faced with. I, like all of us, am a sinner. I have spent hundreds of hours studying the Bible, learning some Hebrew, learning to speak and read Greek, reading commentaries and participating in theological debates. The more I learn, the more I know that because of what I have learned and because of what I do, I am the worst of sinners.

You may feel the same, because we know what is right and we know what is wrong and yet, at times, we fail to act as if we do. One such evening, I found myself in despair, seeing my sinful self and knowing more of the sins I have committed. Such guilt for crimes against God came upon me as if I was buried under 2000 tons of boulders.

That night, I feel asleep begging God for forgiveness and help to repent of my sins. That night He came to me.

I was gathering belongings from our old house as the soldiers broke in through the doorway. I quickly escaped. I came to a hill and looked down to see a city in ruins. Another city several miles away was being attacked by planes dropping bombs on it. Seeing as the city below looked safe, I walked down the hill past a few people deserting the city.

Had one of those months here lately.  Thank you for sharing your story. Reminded me of somethings that I should never, ever forget...just how much He loves me and that He will never stop.  Thanks!

There are times when you feel like God is trying to get something through your head.
Recently my dance team at school has just started this bible study right before practice to get our minds at ease. Well, we have been talking about God’s love for us and how it is unconditional. It is so weird how God can get through to you in so many ways. Tonight (10/16/06) one of the girls was going to quote a story out of her NIV Bible, but she lost the page. Nobody knew of this, and I told a story of two farmers who were experiencing drought. God spoke to these farmers and said “I will send the rain, you just figure out a way to welcome it.” One of the farmers prepared his field for the rain, adn the other farmer just waited. The moral of this story is that you have to prepare your life for God. You can’t wait for Him to do it for you. After bible study the girl came up to me and told me that she was going to tell that story, but she had lost her page. After we stretched our coach came into the room with a letter she had recieved. It was talking about how much God loved and how he wanted us to prepare our lives for Him.

It is amazing how God works in our lives. I hope you all realize that He not only loves you, but He likes you too. In the Bible it says that we are His prefect bride. So prepare yourself for a BIG wedding!
